Tuan Burhanuddin Jayah or Dr. T.B Jayah was born on January 1st in 1890 in Galagedara, Sri lanka. He was an educationalist, politician, diplomat and Muslim community leader in Sri lanka and specially he was a sri lankan national hero. He was attended to the St. Paula's college, kandy for his education in 1904. He was a well built person. The fair skin and his average body, gave him honorable look. He was medium size and fat.  When, he finished his secondary education, he passed his junior and senior examinations with merits and he became a school teacher. He started his first job as a teacher at Dharmaraja college, kandy in 1910. After a short time he moved to the Prince of whales college and he worked as the principal of Zahira college for 27 years.
